Generosity Campaign Update

Good morning. I am Harry Pukay-Martin, the Chair of the Generosity Committee. I had the privilege of being part of the Nominating Committee that asked for your time in the spring and early summer. Now I have the privilege of being part of the group that asks for your treasure in the fall. A pretty good gig if you get the opportunity.

Building up the Body of Christ is all about people: our pastors and administrative folks; our leaders in music and education, our facilities manager, the custodians, and our Chef and of course, you, our congregation.

Over the next weeks, our Moments for Mission will touch on these areas. On November 10th, we will have commitment Sunday.  We will keep you informed of our progress through the month of November in the weekly email blasts, our website, and the bulletin.  The Committee will make a last push in early December to reach out to those members who have not pledged.

I would like to share my thoughts on the Body of Christ here at Worthington Presbyterian Church.  I have been touched by the adult education sessions held by Pastor Tom.  He has also been helpful to me in my faith journey as I needed reading about the early Church, the Gospel of Mark, and Proverbs which he provided.  Pastor Betsy guided and encouraged me as a Deacon. I have enjoyed the International Services that Pastor Peter has led.

I, as a general and financial manager, appreciate the talent and skills demonstrated by Doug Fell.  Jen has helped me with my communications needs whether it was for the community meal or the nominating process. Shana has always been cheerful and helpful and directed me to the right person if she could not help me herself.  Brittany has been diligent about insuring all our pledges and other accounting activity have been properly recorded.

I appreciate the talents of our music staff as they help us in ‘making a joyful noise to the Lord’ whether by the Choir, the Bell Choir, the Youth Choirs, the Youth Band, or the special music at Christmas and Easter. Thank you Russ, Shine, Melissa, and Jennifer.
