Please Be Cautious

Someone has set up a Gmail address claiming to be Pastor Wayne. They send an email requesting a favor followed up by a request for gift cards. A WPC pastor or staff member will never ask you to send them money, gift cards or passwords. This is a phishing attempt.

What to do if you receive a questionable email:

• Always check the sender's name and email address. Scammers are getting more targeted and sophisticated in their efforts.
• Move suspicious emails to spam and block the sender.
• Report any phishing attempts or strange emails to the church.
• Hover over website links to verify they lead to reputable sites and check for security features like HTTPS.
• Be wary of urgent emails, as they often pressure quick decisions.
