Pastor Nominating Committee Update

Update 8
What’s Been Announced – A Quick Recap
As previously shared in recent emails and in this past Sunday’s “Moment for Mission,” the Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) would like to joyfully share the news that we have unanimously chosen a candidate and announce that Session has approved a congregational meeting on Sunday, February 16, immediately after the 10am worship service with the purpose of voting on our candidate for Senior Pastor / Head of Staff.
To hear the PNC’s discernment process, feedback about the candidate, and next steps, watch Sunday’s “Moment for Mission” below.

What’s New
To hear about our candidate’s impact through leadership and mentoring, watch the video below from one of our candidate’s references. This video will be played in Hazelton Fellowship Hall following the February 9 worship services.
What’s Next
- Wednesday February 12, in a special church-wide email, we will share a video from our candidate’s family and you’ll hear firsthand why our candidate feels God’s calling here.
- Saturday, February 15, from 2 - 4:30pm, a “Meet & Greet” will be held in Hazelton Fellowship Hall for all members to meet and visit with the candidate. If you have a nametag, please wear it.
- Sunday, February 16, at both worship services, the candidate will deliver the sermon, pastoral prayer, and benediction. Immediately after the 10am service, a congregational meeting will take place in the sanctuary, where we will conduct an in-person vote. Remote voting (e.g., via Zoom) cannot be accommodated due to Presbytery guidelines and the absence of livestreaming for worship services.
Please keep in mind, as you learn more about our candidate, we ask that you be discreet and allow our candidate to share with their church at the appropriate time.
Information will continue to be posted on the Pastor Nominating Committee portion of our church website. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the “Meet & Greet” on February 15 as well as Worship Service and the Congregational Meeting on February 16.
May God bless each of you, our candidate, and our church!
With gratitude and joy,
WPC’s Pastor Nominating Committee: Noel Abrokwa, Josh Bodnar, Duane Cable, Bill Gilbert, Elizabeth Jewell Becker, Tracy MacDowell, Ryan Mehl
