Thanksgiving Dinner

It is time once again to share with our neighbors! WPC will deliver 250 Thanksgiving meals to needy families from Worthington schools, Salem and Hamilton elementary schools in Columbus.

We are collecting monetary donations November 14 and November 21 after each worship service.
  • Checks are payable to “Worthington Presbyterian Church.” Please note “thanksgiving dinners” on memo line.
  • You may mail checks to WPC at 773 High Street, Worthington, OH 43085.
  • We estimate that each dinner costs $55.00.

We also hope that many of you will donate your time in helping to pack the dinner boxes! Please call Marylou Posey at 614–679–7776 or Pam Hume at 614–668-0349 to let us know what is convenient for you, or stop by Pam's table in Hazelton Hall after Sunday services. We are following pandemic protocol - masks, gloves, social distancing. We need volunteers:

  • Sunday, November 21 at 11 a.m.: Carry in food to Hazelton Hall; bag fruit and potatoes
  • Monday, November 22 from 6 - 7:30 p.m.: Pack food boxes (scheduled at 10-minute intervals)
  • Tuesday, November 23 at 8 am: Drivers deliver dinners

To share the love of Jesus Christ with area families by providing food for preparing a Thanksgiving dinner.

This project was started by Marylou Posey while teaching at Whetstone High School. It has been continued by Mission Ministry at Worthington Presbyterian Church. In 2016 we provided the food for a Thanksgiving meal for 225 families. Most dinners were delivered to families with children in Worthington Schools. We also delivered meals to families at Salem Elementary, Hamilton Elementary, and Alvis Moore in Columbus. We provide a dinner for each WPC custodian.
