YWCA Family Center

PURPOSE:
Worthington Presbyterian members volunteer to host dinner approximately 7-8 times a year at the Y Family Center. The YWCA Family Center (YFC) provides emergency shelter and critical services to stabilize homeless families in central Ohio.

Their goal is to help families find housing within 3 weeks of entering the program. Every day of the year, they rely on volunteers to provide and serve three nutritious meals a day to their families.

BACKGROUND:
Before the YFC was built, churches in the greater Columbus community housed homeless families in their church buildings through a program coordinated by the Y. WPC was one of those churches. When the YFC was built, our support changed from housing families approximately once a month to providing dinner.

LOCATION/DATE/TIME:
The YFC is located at 900 Harvey Court, Columbus, 43219. Dates of service are determined by the Y coordinating group. Check the Announcements for upcoming dates.

Food items can be delivered to our church kitchen by 4 p.m. on the date of service, clearly labeled for the Y Family Center.
